Can You Put Hydro Flask Water Bottles Through The Dishwasher?

We all love Hydro Flask water bottles, which gained popularity amongst hikers, travelers, students, and others for their vacuum sealed insulation.

But the first question we all have about any re-usable bottle is, How do you wash it? Followed by, Is it dishwasher safe?

The answer for Hydro Flask is unfortunately not as simple as it could be: Some Hydro Flasks are dishwasher safe and some Hydro Flasks are not. And it all boils down to whether the water bottle in question is powder coated.

If your Hydro Flask is powder coated, it is dishwasher safe. If your Hydro Flask is not powder coated, it is not dishwasher safe.

The next logical question is, How do I know if my Hydro Flask is powder coated? Well, if the Hydro Flask in question is a coffee mug, then it is not powder coated and thus not dishwasher safe. If your Hydro Flask is anything other than a coffee mug, then it is most likely powder coated and thus dishwasher safe.

Hydro Flask does recommend you wash your bottle simply by applying warm water and soap then rinsing. Of course, this method is fool-proof, but if you just want to throw your bottle in the dishwasher, make sure it's powder coated first!
